Disclaimer: I received two Taste of Melbourne tickets thanks to Exposure PR. I received 3 x complimentary cocktails thanks to Galliano and 1 x cider thanks for Rekorderlig. All crowns were paid out of our own pocket

The weather has been a bit of whirlwind lately and earlier in the week it was 31 degrees! Luckily on Sunday Mr and I went to Taste of Melbourne, the weather was perfect. It was my first time of Taste of Melbourne and couldn’t wait to try to food. I love the Albert Park location it was definitely easier to find packing compared to Taste of Sydney.

First up we decided to have the Calamari Fritto, corn & Black Aioli at Albert Steet Food & Wine , we ordered 1 each . I love the black aioli it was so nicely paired with the calamari! Shame that my cone had extra two pieces then my Mr’s!

Next we aimed to sticky pork belly at Taxi Diing, we ordered 1 each and liked everyone that raved about the dish it met every one of my expectations!

As expected, the line at Mamasita was long but surprisingly it moved in about 5 minutes and before you know it we were at the front. A lady also came down the line letting people know that the corn has ran out. We ordered 2x fish tacos and it was delicious as per usual. It was also noted on a the sheet that they now take lunch bookings, good news people!

Burch & Purchese Royal Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart with Marshmallow

Melba – poached peach, lemon tart ice cream and Meringue at Albert Street food & Wine

There was one thing I really wanted to try which was the Huxtable Pork Ribs but sadly the wait was 20 – 30 minutes so we gave it passed and noted that one day we should visit the restaurant to have it.

Rekorderlig stand was buzzing with people and I got to try the new Apple-Guava flavour which was my favourite our of the cider range.

Galliano Stand – Vanilla Pallino, Ristretto Espresso Martini * Amaretto Sour

The Galliano Stand had a lovely offer of 3 cocktails for $15 or $6 for each. My favourite out of the 3 was the Vanilla Pallino which very refreshing on such a warm day.. The Amaretto Sour was a bit sour for us both and was the least favourite. The Ristretto Martini was lovely too and had a delicate taste of coffee. If you would like to make the Ristretto Recipe at home here is how: Mix 30ml Galliano Ristretto
30ml Galliano Vanilla & 30ml espresso coffee then Shake all ingredients hard over ice, strain into a Martini glass & garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Our loot for the day tea from Dilmah, Cocofrio Salted Caramel coconut ice cream & the little Galliano Glass espresso cup set. The cup set was free as long as you liked their facebook page :) /
